Once upon a time, an old man’s horse, while grazing, ran
away to the wild.
The villagers said, “How unfortunate.”
The old man said, “Events are all inter-connected.
Whether they are fortunate or unfortunate, only time can
tell.”
The horse, after few days, came back from the wild with
ten more horses.
The villagers said, “How fortunate.”
The old man, while training the wild horses, fell and
broke his leg.
The villagers said, “How unfortunate.”
The wild horses, while prancing around, uncovered a
chest of gold coins from the bushes.
The villagers said, “How fortunate.”
The king’s soldiers arrested the old man, on charges of
stealing the chest of gold coins from the royal treasury.
The villagers said, “How unfortunate.”
The king thought how could an old man with a broken
leg, steal and run? So he set the old man free.
The villagers said, “How fortunate.”
The old man said, “Events are all inter-connected.
Whether they are fortunate or unfortunate, only time can
tell.”
