Once upon a time, a disciple asked a monk, “Which is
the easiest time to resolve a conflict?”
The monk questioned, “Can you uproot a sapling?”
The disciple replied, “Yes.”
“Can you uproot a bush?” asked the monk.
“With some strength, it is possible,” replied the disciple.
The monk further questioned, “With all your strength,
can you uproot a tree?”
The disciple replied, “No, I don’t think I can uproot a
tree.”
The monk said, “The easiest time to resolve a conflict is
when it is still a sapling.”
