Change is constant

Once upon a time, a conversation took place between a
leaf and a tree.

The leaf said:

“Dear tree, this season do not shed me away. We have
laughed and cried together. A strong bond of love exists
between us. You will never find anyone like me and I will
never find anyone like you. We are inseparable. Will it not
pain you to shed me away? Will the pain not be even greater
than death itself?”

The tree replied:

“Dear leaf, on my branch you were born and I have
sustained you all along. How could I shed you? Love
between us is as strong as mighty mountains. Indeed it pains,
and it pains more than death, because without you, my life is
a living death. But such is the way of the world. One comes
and one goes. Another comes and another goes.”
