4.6 Chanakya Niti

एकोऽपि गुणवान्पुत्रो निर्गुणेन शतेन किम् ।
एकश्चन्द्रस्तमो हन्ति न च ताराः सहस्रशः ॥४.६॥

eko’api guṇavānputro nirguṇena śatena kim |
ekaścandrastamo hanti na ca tārāḥ sahasraśaḥ ||4.6||

a single son with good qualities is enough, without qualities a hundred are of what use? a single moon dispels darkness, not the stars in thousands
