4.14 Chanakya Niti

अपुत्रस्य गृहं शून्यं दिशः शून्यास्त्वबान्धवाः ।
मूर्खस्य हृदयं शून्यं सर्वशून्या दरिद्रता ॥४.१४॥

aputrasya gṛhaṃ śūnyaṃ diśaḥ śūnyāstvabāndhavāḥ |
mūrkhasya hṛdayaṃ śūnyaṃ sarvaśūnyā daridratā ||4.14||

without a son, a house is empty; directions are empty without relations; a fool’s heart is empty; absolutely empty is poverty
